Purists Will Cry – 1940s Indian Bobbers

In America, Cruiser, Custom by AbhiLeave a Comment

Here’s a couple of Indian bobbers that have had some interesting work done, though traditionalists aren’t going to happy.

Indian Scout Bobber - Right Side
First, we’ve got a 1940 Scout that’s got a stroked motor now displacing 57 cubic inches. The engine got a lighter S&S flywheel, Carrillo rods, Arias pistons, Bonneville cams, and more. It’s also been converted to 12V, plus a rebuilt three speed transmission and new tig welded tanks. Find it for sale in Bonifay, Florida for $29,500 here on Craigslist.

Here’s a video of it starting and moving around:

Going a little crazier, here’s a Chief that’s been really customized. This also has custom pistons and Carrillo rods with new cams, kevlar clutch, electronic ignition, and more. It’s a nickel plated chromoly frame, aluminum fuel tank, 42mm Ceriani forks, Sun rims, and some other parts you wouldn’t expect to see on a custom Chief.
