Over on the auction site we’ve got an interesting example of a classic Ducati which hasn’t seen any miles but has seen better days. It’s an interesting collector piece (plus it’s still got the original MSO) though there’s definitely some “patina” so we’ll see what the market thinks of it.
Manufactured in June of 1979, this example is VIN: 950481. It spent most of its life with British Imports Limited in South Carolina, they were the original owners and had it imported via Berliner Motor Corporation in New Jersey. It’s had to private owners in the last three years and it looks like that’s about to change again. The odometer shows three miles.
It’s never been dealer prepped (the mirrors were lost some time ago) and no gas has ever been inside of the tank. It is riding on the original Pirelli Gordon tires. It definitely shows some age – the Speedline magnesium wheels show the usual effects of time and there’s pitting on the pipes. But when’s the last time you saw a Darmah with this kind of mileage?
