Stock or Custom – 197x Yamaha XS650
The Yamaha XS650 is a well-known classic medium displacement standard. Produced between 1968-1985 (though the US stopped getting them in 1983), they weren’t a game changer but I’m sure plenty of you readers used to have one. Here are two version that present a dilemma – to go with stock or with a mild custom?
1991 BMW K75S Custom
I’m a big fan of the K75, especially as a platform for custom bikes. My current favorite would have to be the Renard Speed Shop build, which made me instantly regret selling my K75C as soon as I first saw it. Here’s another custom that I’m on the fence about…what do you think?

I was pleasantly surprised to see this bike available for sale, as I saw it at last year’s Venice Vintage Motorcycle Club Rally, where it won best Cafe Racer. This bike has received a tremendous amount of press and won several other awards, including best Cafe Racer at the 2014 Born Free Show.

“The Narrow One” – 1974 Harley Shovelhead Custom
Post-Sale Update: After being relisted, the Narrow One was sold for $8,500. This Shovelhead bobber is claimed to be an excellent runner (the seller says he’s taken it between LA and Vegas several times) based on a numbers matching ’74 frame, motor, and transmission.
