Post Listing Update: this KR-1 did not meet reserve despite 42 bids up to $7,900 on eBay in Seattle, Washington. In the late 80’s, Kawi had some success with their KR250 road racer so they released the KR-1 as a wonderful little two-stroke race rep. It was quite successful, triggering increased competition from the big 4, and it set off …

Never Titled – 1977 Moto Guzzi 850 LeMans
Post Sale Update: This LeMans sold for $17,635 after 27 bids on eBay in Palm City, Florida. In Moto Guzzi’s long history, there are several models that have stood the test of time. But for many, the ultimate offering is the first gen LeMans. Said fans may appreciate this example, as it has just 2,049 miles and it’s never been …
New Auction Bike with No Reserve – 1990 Kawasaki Ninja 750R
Post Sale Update: This Ninja sold for $2,450 on Iconic Motorbike Auctions in Marina del Rey, California. Our general policy on the new auction site is that we don’t relist bikes that didn’t sell. But we make exceptions when a seller is willing to relist with no reserve so we know the bike’s going to a new owner! That’s the …
New Auction Bike – 2005 Honda RC51 SP2
Today on the auction site we’ve got a SP2 version of the Honda RC51 in the less-common black – and I love it because it’s got Sato pipes!
New Auction Bike – 2016 Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory
Today on the auction site we’ve got a Tuono Factory from the first year of APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) – an advanced suite of electronics with traction control as well as independent wheelie and launch control that perfectly complements the glorious motor. Union Motorcycles Build – 2002 Ducati 900SS Custom
UPDATE: As noted by Union Motorcycles in the comments, this bike is not one of their builds. Something really magical happened in the fall of 2009. A group of guys, spending time together building motorcycles decided that they had enough interest in their work to start a company. Union Motorcycles say that they are careful to not call their work …
UK Spec – 1986 Honda VF1000FF
The US first got a 1,000cc Interceptor from Honda in 1984 with the VF1000F. In Europe, the same bike was given the model name of VF1000FE. In April of 1985, the bike evolved into the VF1000FF, a model that was sold in Europe, Canada, Australia, and South Africa. The US never got the FF, which was discontinued in August 1987. …
Brand New – 2017 Bimota BB3
This was the bike that was supposed to save Bimota (again). Obviously, it didn’t, but here we’ve got a still new example of their swan song.
New Auction Bike – 1996 Aprilia RS250
Post Sale Update: This Aprilia sold for $6,650 on Iconic Motorbike Auctions in Fremont, California. Ending soon on the auction site we’ve got a CA-plated example of the Aprilia RS250. Back in 2012, Visor Down gushed over the RS250, saying “the real problem with the RS250 is that if you want one, a good one, you’re too late.” Well, here …
CR750 Tribute – 1971 Honda CB750
Honda’s CR750 was an evolution of the ubiquitous CB750, sold in very limited numbers as kits to dealers to convert the stock bikes. Finding a genuine model is very difficult (and very expensive) nowadays, which is why riders often like to take current CB750s and turn them into their own versions of the CR. This one isn’t real, but it’s …
$3,430 Off – 2019 Husqvarna Svartpilen/Vitpilen 701
I’m a big fan of both the Vitpilen 701 and the Svartpilen 701, though an easy criticism is the $11,999 MSRP. But they sure get a lot more interesting if a dealer was knocking off $3,430 from the price…
New Auction Bike – 2008 Ducati Monster S4RS Tricolore
Post Sale Update: This Monster sold for $9,951 on Iconic Motorbike Auctions in Rochester, New Hampshire. Today on the auction site we’ve got the ultimate Monster – at least back in 2008.
No Reserve – 2005 Ducati 999R
Post Sale Update: this 99R sold for $9,800 after 49 bids on eBay in Melbourne, Florida. In 2005, Ducati started exporting the 999R in earnest to satisfy the AMA homolgation requirements (the year before, just 50 were sold). For $29,995, this motorcycle was just about as close to a WSBK bike you could get.
