Post Listing Update: “Mental Illness” did not meet reserve despite 29 bids up to $9,100 on eBay.
Alright, this really has nothing to do with a Suzuki GS1100, but that is how the crazy trike is titled in the state of Texas. It’s an entirely custom three-wheeler that utilizes a 5.3 liter LS1 motor with a C5 Corvette transmission…and a 1970s Gale Banks Draw Through Twin Turbo system that was originally designed for race boats. The seller calls this “Mental Illness”, which might be what you need to get on it and keep the throttle pinned thanks to 15 psi of boost at 5,800 rpm.
The seller is also the builder, and this is the second trike he’s created. The frame doubles as a 10 gallon fuel tank, and the whole thing is said to weigh approximately 1,500 pounds. Per the seller, “I built every part of the trike so that any items can be purchased at a parts house and not custom made or ordered.” The turbo system was rebuilt at a claimed cost of $6,000, and everything is said to work.
Here’s a burnout video, just because. Skip ahead to 0:30:
