I’ve gone months without seeing a bike/trailer combo and today I randomly saw two that were nearly the same price. I’ve never ridden one of these and I don’t have any motivation to do so but they are interesting in their own way. Which would you choose?
From Germany, we’ve got a 2008 BMW R1200RT being sold by the original owner. It’s got 47k miles, factory side cases/top case, heated seats and grips, cruise control…basically all the touring stuff you’d expect from a BMW. Of course, it also has an Aspen Sentry motorcycle camping trailer , and I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised by how large the footprint is when it’s opened up:

The Italian competitor is a 2012 Moto Guzzi Norge that’s paired with a Lees-sure Lite Camper. It has just 13,674 miles and it also comes with side cases. The tent is a bit smaller but it appears to be much quicker for setup and takedown.

I would rather just ride two wheels and pull out a credit card for a motel at the end of the night, but if the trailer life appeals to you, which would you pick? And if anyone has ever towed something while riding a bike, I’d love to hear some first hand thoughts on what the riding experience was like as I have no idea…
