Post Sale Update: this Madass sold for $1,175 after 34 bids on eBay in Kaysville, Utah. Introduced in 2004, the German-designed/Chinese-built Sachs Madass was a 125cc in-town runabout that was way ahead of the current wave of mini motos like the Honda Grom and Kawasaki Z125. Though the Madass debuted in 2004, it wasn’t officially imported to the US until …
Tech Review – Kawasaki’s Rideology App
Nowadays it seems like almost every company is a technology company to some degree – you may be a motorcycle manufacturer but you can’t compete in many segments without the latest in electronic assists like Cornering ABS or wheelie control. This same battle is now moving to your phone, as many OEMs have released mobile apps that connect to your …
Auction Preview – Michael John Szafran Estate in North Carolina
Sorry for the short notice, but I was just told about an interesting auction that’s happening tomorrow (Saturday, March 28th) in Rolesville, North Carolina. It’s the estate sale for someone who I suspect had a similar taste in motorcycles as many of you, a gentleman named Michael John Szafran. 7 of his 9 bikes are up for sale, and together …

Picture Intermission – The Pierce-Arrow Museum
On Day 6 of my trip through the Northeast, Vy and I visited the Pierce-Arrow Museum. I didn’t want to take up the majority of that ride report day (coming soon) with 40 photos from one location, so here’s a separate post dedicated to a great museum!
Ending Soon – 1973 MV Agusta 750S
Post Listing Update: This 750S did not meet reserve despite 14 bids up to $41,600 on eBay in New York, New York. Earlier this week I shared a Magni Sport 1200S from the Stuart Parr Collection – it was built to look like the iconic MV Agusta 750S. Well, turns out Stuart’s also got one of those, and he’s putting …
1 of 50 – 2017 Indian Scout FTR750
Back in 2017, Indian returned to professional flat track racing after a 6 decade hiatus. They absolutely dominated the American Flat Track (AFT) Championship, securing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the overall standings. AFT rules stipulate that the motors used in competition have to be based on production designs, so Indian created a limited run of 50 Scout FTR750s for …
Possibly Yoshimura Prepped – 1990s Suzuki GSX-R 7-11
You may remember that back in September I gave you a heads up on the estate auction of Charlie Mavros – one of those bikes has been serviced and back on the market! A 7/11 (GSX-R 1100 motor stuffed into a GSX-R 750 frame) that looks like it’s got plenty of Yoshimura love in it, this is a former racebike …
Rare in the US – 1988 Cagiva Tamanaco
Never officially imported to the US, the Cagiva Tamanaco was a diminutive dual-sport that looks like an absolute blast. Look at the stickers on this thing! “Fun & Function”, “Soft Damp”, “Twin Cooler”. In this case, the seller’s even added a couple of stickers of his own, such as a “BRAAAAP” on the inside of the right side hand guard.
1999 Honda RS250R NX5
Both Honda and Aprilia offered two-stroke sport bikes under the model name of “RS250”, but the Japanese variant was much more aggressive as it was a production racer available directly from the factory. It was first made available to privateer racers in 1985, going through four different generations until exiting Honda’s lineup in 2009.
300 Miles – 2019 Yamaha YZF-R1M
Post Listing Update: This R1M did not meet reserve despite 24 bids up to $18,100 on eBay in Stuart, Florida. The Yamaha R1M is the closest thing to a race rep that Yamaha has put out in many years – and 2019 was the last year of the debut model – 2020 brings some updates (Euro 5 emissions, ride-by-wire that …
Street Legal – 1982 Ducati 750 TT1
Post Sale Update: This TT1 did not meet reserve in the auction, but it sold afterwards on the Iconic Motorbike Classifieds for $30,800 including buyer’s fees. On the auction site we’ve got a beautiful TT1 owned by Michael Woolaway, the Design Director at Deus Ex Machina’s Venice location. He built it to compete in the Isle of Man this year, …
2000 Magni Sport 1200S
Post Listing Update: This Magni Sport 1200S did not meet reserve despite 20 bids up to $11,600 on eBay in New York, New York. An Italian with the heart of a Suzuki Bandit 1200, the Magni Sport 1200S had Bimota-like potential but it underwhelmed both from a performance and a sales standpoint.
