Reader Ride – 1973 Honda CL350 Flying Dragon
Post-Listing Update: Despite the outcome on the listing, I’m told this Honda CL350 Flying Dragon sold for $3,800 on eBay. A little known tidbit of Honda history is in ’72 and ’73, you could order an incredible set of alternate bodywork for CL350 or CL450 models – an idea that came from Honda’s paint department because they figured these crazy …
Wes Cooley Rep- 1979 Suzuki GS1000S
Post Listing Update: Bidding got up to $8,701 but this bike was pulled off of eBay, final sale price unknown. Suzuki shocked a lot of people with the GS series, particularly with their 997cc-engined entrance into the liter bike market. It was fast, it had great handling and brakes, and over time it’s proven itself to be one of the …
Reader Ride – 1983 Honda CB1100F
Post-Sale Update: After 27 bids on eBay, this CB1100F sold for $5,701 – an impressive figure. Built for just one year, the Honda CB1100F was a sleek looking standard that evolved from the 900F. In the process, it had tremendous performance – in January of ’83, Cycle World said it was the fastest stock bike they’ve ever tested.
Double Trouble – 2 New Suzuki Gamma RG500’s
The Suzuki Gamma RG500 was a repli-racer inspired by the ’84 Gamma GP bike, which helped Suzuki win seven straight constructors championships. Here we’ve got two brand new examples that have never been started – one of which is a pre-production model.
Museum Quality – 1967 Honda S90
Post-Listing Update: This ‘museum quality’ (despite the backwards tank badges) S90 did not meet reserve with bidding up to $3,152 on eBay. I feature all kinds of motorcycles on this site, but only the Honda S90 is on here every day, as it’s part of the Bike-urious logo. Here’s a restored example that’s currently spending its days in a museum.
1990 Yamaha TZR250SP
Post-Sale Update: This Yamaha TZR250SP sold for $7,700 after 37 bids on eBay. Some would say the 3MA version of Yamaha TZR250SP was a full-on racer that came with lights. A limited number were built for homologation purposes, and it even took features from the factory TZ250W racer to make a sportbike that can still take on the newcomers.
Cover Story – 1979 Honda CB750 Limited
Post-Sale Update: After 26 bids on eBay, this Honda CB750 Limited sold for $3,310. Built as a 10th Anniversary bike, the Honda CB750 Limited was a 2-tone beauty with the same mechanical components as the base bike. This is a great example that was actually the exact model featured on the cover Clymer Honda CB750 DOHC Fours repair manual.
1984 Kawasaki 750 Turbo
Built over the ’84 and ’85 model years, the Kawasaki 750 Turbo only had minor changes between years. Most riders consider this to be the best of the factory turbo’d bikes from the big 4 Japanese manufacturers.
Reader Ride – 1985 Honda VF1000R with sidecar
I’m disappointed to see such an unique rig go up for sale, but hopefully it finds a new owner within the Bike-urious ranks. Reader Mike B. has let me know that he has to let his Honda VF1000R with Motorvation sidecar go, and this thing is too cool not to share.
1970 Kawasaki A7 Avenger
Post-Sale Update: After 16 bids on eBay, this Kawasaki A7 Avenger sold for $5,500. The last of the big 4 Japanese manufacturers to start selling motorcycles, Kawi had a little bit of catching up to do when it came to understanding the US market. They initially offered small-displacement two-strokes, and while those bikes have definitely caught the eye of a …
700 Miles – 1974 Honda CL360
Post Sale Update: After 16 bids on eBay, this CL sold for US $4,599. The successor to last week’s Honda CL350, this immaculate Honda CL360 has just 700 miles and is waiting for a new owner after spending most of its life in a collection.
1990 Honda Caren
It’s hard to tell, but there’s actually a scooter in there. A scooter you might recognize as the Honda Express, with a 50cc engine putting down all of 3.8 horsepower. Honda created a very unsuccessful three-wheeler by putting a fiberglass body around the scooter, and called their creation the Honda Caren.
1983 Egli Red Baron
Honda made quite the splash back when it introduced the CBX to the world. The six-cylinder engine was clearly the star of the show, though some people felt the frame/handling wasn’t up to the task.
1972 Honda CL350 K4 Scrambler
The scrambler variant of Honda’s best-selling motorcycle (at least as of 2003), the Honda CL350 differed from its’ street-based brother as it gained the high scrambler pipes and a 19-inch front wheel. This particular example is a beautiful low mileage example adorned in Candy Panther Gold (what a name) paint.
