In Japan, Sport by AbhiLeave a Comment

Post Sale Update: This R1-Z sold for $6,101 after 36 bids on eBay. Just like the fantastic TDR250 that I’ve recently featured a couple of times, the R1-Z was never officially sold in the US and it features a retuned TZR250 motor. Unlike the TDR, this was limited just to Japan and it’s a naked sport bike. Two-stroke lovers, rejoice!

In Germany, Sport by Tim HuberLeave a Comment

Before BMW would gift the world its ridiculously competent S1KRR, the German moco made solid machines but had much more of a reputation for tourers but not so much racers. Enter: The BMW Boxer Cup. It ran as a support event to GP races and consisted of a field of all R1100S bikes that were slightly modified, but still surprisingly …

1967 Ducati MK3 250 CRMC Racer

In Italy, Race by Tim HuberLeave a Comment

In 1967, Ducati rejoined the single-cylinder roadbike market with the Mark 3 (or MK3) 250 and 350 models, as well as a 450 version by the end of the ’60’s. Ducati would spend almost two-and-a-half decades utilizing single-cylinder engines that used Fabio Taglioni’s non-spring-actuated valve-system. Ducati also offered a factory race kit for the MK3, though I haven’t been able …

In Germany, Sport by Tim HuberLeave a Comment

The HP2 Sport was produced from 2008-2012 and was BMW’s answer to the Ducati’s 1098 lineup. 2,260 units (though some sources say 2,259) were produced with more than 500 of them staying in Germany, this combined with the fact that many were raced and thrashed makes the HP2 Sport a pretty rare specimen. The German manufacturer also released several other …

When first released, these two-wheeled feats of engineering quickly proved themselves while amassing a loyal legion of followers. They were built from 1955 …

Post Sale Update: After being relisted several times, this H2 sold for a BIN of $13,000 on eBay. Not unlike Kawasaki’s more recent H2 (and H2R) models, its first H2 model was a game changer that easily set itself apart from the rest of the two-wheeled offerings of its time. The three-cylinder two-stroke 750 was simply a beast, and while …

In 3 Wheels, America by Tim HuberLeave a Comment

Don’t let this vehicle’s steering wheel and training wheels fool you, this is very much a motorcycle, (or at least a single track machine.) This rare 1989 Pulse Rocket Cycle example is all kinds of interesting. This behemoth of an enclosed scoot is powered by a water-cooled 1980’s Honda Gold Wing 1200 engine and reportedly is good for a cool …
